Richard Gilman-Opalsky, assistant professor of political philosophy at UIS, is the author of Unbounded Publics: Transgressive Public Spheres, Zapatismo, and Political Theory, published this month by Lexington Books. The book examines the concept of the public sphere and the various ways it has been theorized as a driving mechanism for social and political change.
